Shujinkou JRPG to launch on Epic Games Store and Mac App Store

Rice Games has announced that its story-driven dungeon-crawler JRPG, Shujinkou, will launch on the Epic Games Store and the Mac App Store on September 9. The release marks a significant milestone for the studio, as founder Julian Rice utilized Mac hardware for much of the game's six-year development process.

The Mac version will support both Intel and Apple Silicon architectures and includes features such as controller support, 70 Game Center achievements, and 26 leaderboards. Mac users can access the first 5 to 10 hours of the game for free, with the option to purchase permanent content unlocks via one-time in-app payments.

Shujinkou features an 80-plus hour campaign, 16 handcrafted labyrinths, and over 200 quests. A unique aspect of the title is an optional Japanese language-learning system that allows players to practice kanji and vocabulary through gameplay. The game has previously been released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
