A woman from Shumen, Bulgaria, has successfully recovered 1,895 euros and a mobile phone that were lost after being left on a car hood. The items were found by two separate citizens and turned over to the local police.
Ferihan Yumer discovered a cosmetic bag containing the cash at the intersection of Industrial Street and Pliska Boulevard. Although the bag contained no identification, it held a shopping card with three names, which helped authorities begin their investigation. Shortly after, a man in the City Center area turned in a mobile phone. By calling the last number dialed on the device, police were able to identify the owner, Yordanka Penkova.
Investigations revealed that Penkova had placed the money and phone on her vehicle's hood before driving away unintentionally. This marks the second instance in two days where found money has been surrendered to the Shumen District Police Directorate.
