Shumen to host Balkanada Air Sports competition

The city of Shumen, Bulgaria, will host the second edition of the Balkanada Air Sports competition from September 9 to 12. This marks the first time the event is being held in Bulgaria.

Approximately 120 competitors from nine countries—Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Cyprus, Kosovo, Romania, Montenegro, Moldova, and Hungary—will participate in various disciplines. The competitions include skydiving, paragliding, ultralight aircraft flights, and aeromodelling. A special ‘Super Athlete’ title will be awarded to the competitor participating in the highest number of events.

The event is organized by the Bulgarian National Aero Club with support from the Shumen Municipality and the Sky-Shumen Air Sports Club. Outdoor competitions, such as skydiving and paragliding, will take place at the Gradishte village airport, while aeromodelling contests will be held at the Arena Shumen hall. The program also features demonstration balloon flights, and public access to the events is free.
