Shuttle Open 2026 Badminton Exhibition in Jakarta Features Legends Taufik Hidayat and Lin Dan

The Shuttle Open 2026, powered by myBCA, was staged at GBK Basket Hall in Senayan, Jakarta on 1 August 2026. Organized by MAKUKU together with AceKid Indonesia, the exhibition match brought together a roster of Indonesian badminton greats—including Ricky Soebagdja, Candra Wijaya, Taufik Hidayat, Hendra Setiawan, Liliyana Natsir and Tontowi Ahmad—alongside Chinese legend Lin Dan as a special guest.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat said the event “is a form of appreciation for national badminton legends and aims to inspire children as the next generation of athletes.” Vice‑President of MAKUKU Global, Patrick Owen, added that the tournament seeks to “show that legacy lives on through opportunities we create for the next generation.” Executives from Bank Central Asia (BCA) also voiced support, highlighting the tournament’s role in promoting the sport nationally.

The showcase was presented as both a nostalgic celebration of past achievements and a platform to motivate young Indonesians to pursue badminton, reinforcing the sport’s cultural significance in the country.
