Shweta Tripathi awarded WIF India x Gold House scholarship for TIFF 2026

Actor-turned-producer Shweta Tripathi has been awarded the WIF India x Gold House Scholarship for the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). This selection marks Tripathi’s transition from acting to producing feature films.

As part of the scholarship, Tripathi will present her debut feature production, ‘Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan,’ at the Gold House Pitch during TIFF. The film, a queer love story directed by Sanjoy Nag, stars Tripathi alongside Tillotama Shome. The pitch will allow her to present the project to a global network of producers, financiers, and industry executives.

Guneet Monga Kapoor, CEO of Sikhya Entertainment and founder of WIF India, stated that the scholarship aims to provide women filmmakers with international connections that can change a project's trajectory. Rabia Chopra, Head of Programme and Strategy at WIF India, noted that the collaboration with Gold House is intended to create broader opportunities for women filmmakers from India.
