Shyam Ghimire: Nepali expat's journey from manual laborer to Dubai chef

Shyam Ghimire, a Nepali expatriate, has transitioned from performing manual labor to becoming a leading chef at Naughty Pizza in Dubai. Inspired by his father, who worked as a chef in Palpa, Nepal, Ghimire moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2022 to seek better opportunities and support his family.

Before reaching his current professional position, Ghimire’s journey involved physically demanding back-of-house roles, including washing dishes and cleaning toilets. He has stated that he did not allow his starting point to define his potential and viewed his early manual labor as part of his path toward his culinary ambitions.
