Siak Police seize over one kilogram of methamphetamine

The Siak Police Resort (Polres Siak) successfully intercepted a narcotics distribution attempt, seizing more than one kilogram of methamphetamine (sabu). The operation was carried out by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Unit in the Tualang district, specifically near the Perawang–Minas highway. During the operation, police apprehended a 23-year-old man, identified by the initials MB, who is suspected of acting as a courier.

Siak Vice Regent Syamsurizal attended the destruction of the seized evidence on Friday, September 11, 2026, to express support for the police. He emphasized that law enforcement cannot combat drug trafficking alone and urged the public to report suspicious activities without fear. He noted that the synergy between the local government, police, and citizens is essential to protecting the younger generation and preventing the region from being used as a distribution route.

Siak Police Chief AKBP Sepuh Ade Irsyam Siregar reaffirmed the department's commitment to dismantling drug networks and pursuing individuals on wanted lists (DPO) to break the chain of narcotics distribution in the area.
