Siam Wings Airlines launches operations in Thailand
Siam Wings Airlines has commenced operations in Thailand, establishing its primary base at U-Tapao International Airport near Pattaya. The airline, which received its Air Operator Licence (AOL) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) in May 2025, is utilizing long-haul aircraft, including an Airbus A330-200, to target the international tourism market.
Initial flights have focused on connecting Thailand with Russia. One notable flight, SHE6619, transported 336 Russian tourists from Krasnoyarsk to U-Tapao to support the winter tourism season in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
Reports indicate a connection between Siam Wings and the Russian travel operator Pegas Touristik, which is known for operating its own fleet of airlines. This follows a pattern of Russian-linked aviation entities, such as Nordwind and Southwind Airlines, establishing operations in different regions.
