Siaya County police investigate suspected murder of teenager

Police in Siaya County are investigating the suspected murder of an 18-year-old student, Collins Onyango Otonde, whose body was found in an incomplete swimming pool at Ndigwa Junction. Preliminary investigations suggest the Grade 10 pupil at Ndigwa Secondary School was assaulted on Thursday night following an accusation that he stole Sh1,000 from his mother. The victim sustained visible injuries to his head, shoulder, back, and hands. Investigators have identified the deceased's mother and two adult men as suspects, though they remain at large.

In a separate incident in Gem-Wagai, authorities are also investigating the death of 34-year-old motorcyclist Fredrick Omondi Odalo, who was found with a deep head wound in Ogero Village. This incident reportedly led to the subsequent mob killing of a 22-year-old man allegedly linked to the motorcyclist's death. Police investigations into both matters are ongoing.
