SIAZ Piazza Armerina wins preseason test at Memorial Sant’Ambrogio

During the Memorial Sant’Ambrogio basketball tournament in Reggio Calabria, the Sant’Ambrogio family presented SIAZ Piazza Armerina with a plaque of solidarity and comfort. The gesture was intended to support the Sicilian club through a delicate period, as expressed by SIAZ president Fabio La Versa.

The tournament, established in the 1970s to honor the memory of Mario Sant’Ambrogio and other family members, serves as a significant historical event for regional basketball.

In the preseason match held as part of the event, SIAZ Piazza Armerina defeated Pallacanestro Viola with a final score of 83-57. Despite a competitive first quarter, Piazza Armerina increased their intensity in the second and third quarters to secure the victory, providing technical staff with preparation data ahead of the upcoming championship.
