Romania reports multiple major fires in Suceava, Sibiu, and Retezat

Romania has experienced a series of significant fires across various regions. In Suceava, a major fire broke out on the roof of an apartment building, likely caused by improper use of a heating device during insulation work. The blaze destroyed approximately 400 square meters of the wooden roof and damaged apartments on the fourth floor, leading to the temporary relocation of residents.

In the Retezat National Park, a forest fire in the Valea Buta area prompted the Hunedoara County Committee for Emergency Situations to approve an integrated action plan. Measures include monitoring air quality, restricting access to tourist routes, and deploying mixed teams of forestry and emergency personnel.

Other notable incidents include a large fire at a waste recycling facility in Șura Mică, near Sibiu, which triggered RO-ALERT warnings due to toxic smoke. In Sutești, Vâlcea, a warehouse containing paint and thinners caught fire, necessitating emergency alerts for residents within a 5 km radius. Additionally, a forage depot in Iași was damaged by a fire reportedly caused by children playing with fire.

In Davidești, Argeș, firefighters responded to a residential roof fire involving two specialized vehicles.
