Sibiu’s International Folklore Festival and Junii Sibiului’s UNTOLD Debut Highlight Romanian Cultural Showcase

From 5 to 10 August 2026, Sibiu will host the 51st International Folklore Festival “Cântecele Munților”. The event features ensembles and artists from Mexico, Italy, Cyprus, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey and Romania performing in open‑air venues such as the ASTRA Museum, Brukenthal Museum, the city’s cultural centre and the airport. Workshops, dance lessons and a popular‑port parade will run daily, emphasising traditional costume, music and steps.

On 8 August 2026, the professional folk groups “Cindrelul‑Junii Sibiu” and “Ceata Junilor”, together with singers Ionuț Fulea and Mariana Anghel, will appear on the main stage of the UNTOLD festival in Cluj‑Napoca. Their performance showcases Transylvanian songs and dances, with choreography by Silvia Macrea and orchestration by local musicians, bringing Romanian folklore to the international audience of the high‑profile electronic‑music event.
