Siblings win hamburger eating contest in Chapada dos Guimarães

Siblings Erick Gabriel Gonçalves de Almeida, 23, and Laura Cristina da Cruz Silva, 18, won the ‘Devorador’ hamburger eating contest held during Burguer Fest in Chapada dos Guimarães, Mato Grosso.

In the competition, Erick consumed five whole hamburgers in five minutes, utilizing water to assist the swallowing process. Laura won the female category by eating three hamburgers in the same timeframe. Together, the siblings consumed eight hamburgers during the event.

The Burguer Fest aims to promote local commerce and highlight the quality of beef produced in Mato Grosso. The festival, supported by the Instituto Mato-grossense da Carne (Imac), has held editions in Cuiabá and Sinop, with upcoming events planned for Várzea Grande and Rondonópolis.
