SIC announces end of ‘Domingão’ program after six years

The Portuguese television station SIC has announced that the program ‘Domingão’ will end its run at the end of the summer. The show, hosted by Emanuel and Débora Monteiro, is concluding after six years of weekly broadcasts.

Daniel Oliveira, SIC’s general director of entertainment, described the program as a successful project that connected with viewers and celebrated local communities and traditions across the country. The station indicated that it is preparing a new cycle for its weekend programming, with a new Sunday afternoon project to be announced soon.

Former presenter Luciana Abreu, who co-hosted the format until last November, reacted to the announcement on social media with heart and applause emojis.
