SICA Festival 2026 announces nominees for 20th edition

The 20th edition of the Stars de l’Intégration Culturelle Africaine (SICA) Festival is scheduled to take place from November 9 to 15, 2026, in Cotonou, Benin. The event, founded by Alli Wassi, aims to celebrate African artistic diversity and cultural integration under the theme ‘Heritage and Innovation’.

Several artists have received nominations for the upcoming ceremony. Chadian artist Jethsonat (Jethro Badjim Berdi) has been nominated in the Best Afro-Ethnic Music category, recognized for his afro-fusion style that blends traditional rhythms with contemporary sounds.

Representing Togo, Gilles Gbagba has been nominated for the Best Live Presenter award. He will compete against 18 other candidates from various African nations, including Senegal, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Cameroon, to win the trophy which honors the ability to represent both a country and an artist on stage.
