Sicilian authorities conduct inspections at food businesses

Authorities in Sicily have conducted a series of inspections across various food establishments, resulting in multiple sanctions for regulatory violations.

In Caltagirone, a joint task force involving the State Police, the Sicilian Regional Forestry Corps, and the National Labor Inspectorate inspected two restaurants. The first establishment received fines totaling 11,600 euros due to workplace safety violations, the discovery of undeclared labor, and failure to list ingredients on the menu. The second restaurant was fined 8,834 euros for similar safety and menu transparency issues.

In Lentini, inspectors from the Lentini Police Commissionerate and the Syracuse Provincial Health Authority (ASP) identified severe hygienic and sanitary deficiencies at a bakery. The owner faced 3,000 euros in fines, and authorities have proposed a suspension of the business operations.
