Sicilian health agencies showcase medical innovation at ExpoMedicina

Health agencies from Sicily are participating in ExpoMedicina 2026 at the Le Ciminiere exhibition center in Catania to demonstrate advancements in healthcare technology and preventative medicine.

The Asp di Enna is presenting its chemical safety and prevention technologies. The Public Health Laboratory is showcasing methodologies used to protect citizens by analyzing cosmetics and textiles for hazardous substances, including parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, and heavy metals such as lead and arsenic. Additionally, the agency’s REACH Office is focusing on documentary controls and safety training regarding chemical substances.

Meanwhile, the Asp di Ragusa is emphasizing early diagnosis through public health screenings. The agency has conducted 50 clinical evaluations for thyroid and diabetes issues, integrating ultrasound examinations to facilitate early detection. These initiatives aim to promote a culture of prevention and reduce the long-term burden of disease on the healthcare system.
