Sicilian healthcare professionals honored at Best Insanitas awards

The second edition of the Best Insanitas awards, organized by Insanitas.it, recently honored several medical professionals and institutions for excellence in healthcare within Sicily. The ceremony took place at the Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort in Campofelice di Roccella.

Among the recipients from the ASP di Messina were specialists from the AOU G. Martino in Messina and the San Vincenzo Hospital in Taormina. Recognized best practices included an innovative technique for administering chemotherapy drugs directly into the chest, performed by Professor Francesco Monaco and Dr. Dario Familiari. Additionally, a complex neurosurgical and ophthalmological intervention to treat a patient with cranial and ocular injuries was highlighted, led by Professor Nino Germanò, Professor Alessandro Meduri, and Dr. Felicia Matilde Ferreri.

From the Taormina hospital, Sasha Agati (Pediatric Cardiac Surgery), Fabio D’Amore (Gastroenterology), and Serenella Palmeri (Otorhinolaryngology and Cervico-facial Surgery) were also recognized for their contributions to medical innovation and patient care quality.
