Sicilian mobster captured after escaping Asti prison

A Sicilian mobster has been captured following a three-week manhunt after escaping from the Asti prison. The individual, who was serving a 21-year sentence for mafia association and drug trafficking, had escaped while on semi-liberty status intended for volunteer work.

To evade detection, the fugitive dyed his hair blonde to alter his appearance. Investigations coordinated by the prosecutors of Asti, Palermo, and Turin tracked his movements through various regions, including potential transit through Reggio Calabria and Bovalino. He was eventually identified and apprehended despite an attempt to flee during the arrest.
