Sicilian municipalities launch civil service projects
Civil service projects have officially launched within Sicilian municipalities and the headquarters of Anci Sicilia. Through participation in the Scanci.it network—a national network for universal civil service promoted by Anci Lombardia and regional Anci branches—16 local entities in Sicily have joined the initiative to host 118 volunteers.
In Palermo, five young volunteers have begun a training program at the central headquarters of Anci Sicilia, working alongside staff to support municipal services. Mario Emanuele Alvano, the Secretary General, described the program as more than just social commitment, calling it a form of work orientation that allows young people to acquire concrete knowledge of municipal operations and professional skills.
The strategic importance of the program is reflected in national data, which showed 6,508 applications for 2,706 available positions across Italy, averaging 2.4 applications per post.
