Sicily advances infrastructure projects in Messina province

The Sicilian Regional Government is advancing several infrastructure and urban regeneration projects in the Messina province.

In Fondo Saccà, the Commissioner's Structure and Invitalia are constructing 32 housing units using modern sustainable wood construction technologies. An open day is scheduled for October 29 to allow engineers and architects to examine the technical aspects of the project, including seismic design and computational design for multi-story wooden structures.

Additionally, a tender has been launched for the reconstruction of a sea wall in Sant’Agata di Militello. The project, valued at 9.2 million euros, aims to combat coastal erosion and protect the waterfront and provincial road (SP 162) following damage caused by storm surges. The works are intended to safeguard local infrastructure, ensure citizen safety, and support the area's tourism-driven economy.
