Sicily-Africa project to build vocational schools in Cameroon and Guinea-Bissau

The “Seeds of Hope” (Semi di Speranza) project has been launched in Syracuse to establish a vocational training bridge between Sicily and sub-Saharan Africa. The initiative aims to build two professional training schools in Sangmèlima, Cameroon, and Bafatà, Guinea-Bissau.

Promoted by CNA Sicilia and CNA Pensionati Sicilia in collaboration with the Missione Speranza e Carità, the project seeks to utilize the technical and artisanal expertise of Sicilian retirees to teach young Africans marketable trades. This effort is intended to foster long-term local development by providing skills necessary for the labor market. The project builds upon existing synergies involving the Fondazione Impresa Sensibile and the Fondazione San Paolo.
