Sicily allocates €25.2 million to support businesses hit by Cyclone Harry

The regional government of Sicily announced the allocation of a total of €25.2 million to compensate businesses damaged by Cyclone Harry. President Renato Schifani said the funds will ensure that no enterprise is left without assistance as the coastal tourism season approaches.

Irfis FinSicilia, the regional financial institute managing the scheme, has completed the review of applications submitted by the June 22 deadline and will soon pay out about €2.3 million to 139 newly approved claimants. An additional €3.2 million was added to the budget to meet the full demand from the two calls for aid.
