Sicily approves eight regional hires for victims of gender‑based violence

The Sicilian regional administration completed its review of applications for the positions reserved for people most severely affected by gender‑based violence. Eight "nulla osta" were issued, allowing the hiring of six orphans of femicide victims and two women who have suffered permanent facial disfigurement.

The appointments are made under article 118 of Regional Law No. 3 of 2024, which was introduced to provide concrete support and a path to social inclusion through employment. Regional assessor Nuccia Albano said each request was examined carefully, with uniform, transparent and swift procedures, turning the legislative provision into a real opportunity for those who have endured traumatic loss.
