Sicily celebrates cultural heritage through art and tradition

Sicily is being highlighted through various cultural and artistic initiatives focusing on its landscape, memory, and traditions.

In Lascari, the “Video Art Sicilia – Light, Story, Landscape” event will take place at the Parco Urbano della Pirrera. Conceived by Aldo Arrigo and directed by Leonardo Bruno, the project uses the walls of an old quarry as a visual canvas. The performance integrates video art, music, and live narration to depict Sicilian symbols such as local landscapes, lace patterns, and Sicilian carts. The event features live musical performances by Alessandro Valenza on piano and Antonino Saladino on cello, accompanied by narrator Santi Cicardo.

Additionally, journalist and author Attilio Ludovico Vinci is engaging in discussions regarding Sicilian identity and heritage. His work explores the intersection of culture and enogastronomy, particularly through his book “Magica Sicilia – Enogastronomia e cultura tra mare e territorio.” The discussions emphasize how food and wine serve as narrative tools for the island's landscape, community, and social history.
