Sicily completes SS 284 road modernization between Bronte and Adrano

Infrastructure works on the SS 284 'Occidentale Etnea' state road between Bronte and Adrano in Sicily have been completed. The project, managed by Anas, involved modernizing a 4-kilometer stretch between km 26 and km 30.

Key improvements included roadbed adjustment, route rectification, and the removal of dangerous level crossings to enhance safety and functionality. The works cost approximately 43.1 million euros, funded through the 2000-2006 Development and Cohesion Plan. This intervention is part of a broader program to modernize the entire SS 284 artery, which serves as a vital link between the Etnean territory and Catania. Regional Infrastructure Assessor Alessandro Aricò noted that following this completion, attention will shift to the Adrano-Paternò section.
