Sicily: Deputy demands clarity on Ias corporate strategy

Sicilian regional deputy Carlo Auteri has called for transparency regarding the future of Ias, a company considered strategic for the industrial and environmental system of Syracuse. Auteri expressed support for concerns raised by labor unions regarding a rumored regional strategy that involves a corporate intervention in Ias once judicial phases and environmental requirements are met.

Auteri, a member of the Regional Assembly's Environment Commission, stated he has no knowledge of such a plan and is seeking formal clarification on its existence, content, and progress. He emphasized the need to protect the livelihoods of dozens of workers and requested that the regional government move beyond restricted discussions to provide clear information to employees.
