Sicily experiences high summer temperatures and thermal variability

Sicily is experiencing high summer temperatures characterized by significant thermal variability due to the island's geography and sea breezes. High-pressure systems are ensuring stable, sunny weather across the region.

Internal areas away from the coast are seeing the highest temperatures. The inland areas of Trapani and Palermo have recorded peaks of approximately 36.3 degrees Celsius, while the plains of Caltanissetta and Enna have reached 35.8 degrees Celsius. The Catania plain is also seeing highs between 35.2 and 36 degrees Celsius.

In contrast, mountainous regions offer cooler conditions. The Madonie and Nebrodi ranges are recording temperatures between 19.9 and 22.3 degrees Celsius. On Mount Etna, temperatures drop significantly with altitude, falling below 20 degrees Celsius at higher elevations. Coastal areas and the Palermo metropolitan area benefit from sea breezes, which help moderate the heat.
