Sicily hosts 2026 summer festivals: theatre at Monte Adranone and Calici di Stelle wine tour

The "Lucciole e silenzio" theatre festival returns to the Punic archaeological site of Monte Adranone near Sambuca di Sicilia, with performances on 7 August (sunset), 8 August (dawn) and 18 August (sunset). The program includes Shakespeare’s Lo stupro di Lucrezia, staged by Galatea Ranzi and Stefano Santospago under the direction of Marcello Cava, and the original play Dormono sulla collina by Barbara Gizzi, directed by Massimo Cimaglia. The festival is coordinated by Costanza Amodeo and produced by the site‑specific company Teatro Mobile, which provides headphones for an immersive audio‑visual experience.

From 24 July to 12 August, the Calici di Stelle wine‑tour event runs across Sicily, linking 29 wineries and 31 scheduled tastings. Organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino Sicilia, the itinerary spans regions from Mount Etna to the Marsalese, Valle del Belice, Ragusano, Nisseno and Palermitano, and involves the municipalities of Castiglione di Sicilia, Pachino, Pantelleria, Partinico and Poggioreale. The initiative highlights the growing economic value of enotourism, estimated at over €3 billion for Italy, and promotes sustainable tourism and local food culture.
