Sicily hosts cultural initiatives in Canicattini Bagni and Gibellina

Cultural initiatives are underway in Sicily to promote regional art and heritage. In Canicattini Bagni, the second ‘Santino Amato’ collective painting exhibition opened in the historic center. The event, running from September 27 to 29, is dedicated to the memory of Santino Amato, a master artist and musician. Local officials noted the town's ongoing efforts to foster culture, tradition, and inclusion through various high-quality events.

In the Belìce region, the Lions Club Canicattì Castel Bonanno is promoting the cultural rebirth of Gibellina, which is designated as the Italian Capital of Contemporary Art for 2026. The club organized initiatives titled ‘Tourism, a Lever for Development’ and ‘Let Us Guard Memory, Let Us Regenerate Sicily.’ These programs included guided tours of Gibellina Nuova, visiting key sites such as the Museum of Mediterranean Weaves, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), and the Monumental System of Squares to highlight the area's symbolic identity.
