Sicily hosts new basketball project and film festival

In the Trapani region of Sicily, two distinct community projects have been launched or inaugurated.

HE Trapani Basket has officially introduced its new project, focusing on women's basketball and youth development. Led by President and founder Fabio Tartamella, alongside partners Norbert Biasizzo and Angelo Irienti, the club will compete in the women's Serie C. The technical direction is headed by Filippo Contiliano, with Giorgia Lombardo serving as captain. The initiative aims to integrate with local basketball structures and foster talent through male and female youth and minibasket programs.

Meanwhile, in Marsala, the third edition of the Piazza Ranne film festival has commenced. The event, which aims to promote urban regeneration and the Sicilian film industry, featured an opening night dedicated to ‘The Leopard’. Local authorities, including Marsala Mayor Andreana Patti and the President of the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Trapani, Salvatore Quinci, attended the inauguration, highlighting the festival's role in cultural development and regional identity.
