Sicily hosts workplace safety training and fire prevention conferences
New safety training initiatives and technical conferences are being organized across Sicily to address workplace regulations and fire prevention.
In Pantelleria, the U.P.I.A., in collaboration with Studio di Consulenza del Lavoro Valenza Florinda, is launching mandatory training courses in compliance with Legislative Decree 81/2008. Scheduled for late September 2026, the sessions include high-risk information training and courses for operating elevated work platforms. The initiative emphasizes the importance of medical surveillance and warns that failure to comply with mandatory training can result in criminal and administrative penalties, including fines and potential arrest.
Simultaneously, the “ALTA SICUREZZA” technical-scientific conference series will be held in Palermo and Catania. These events focus on innovative solutions for fire safety and comfort within the context of ecological transition. The programs will explore the integration of fire prevention with HVAC disciplines and the use of low-GWP refrigerants in system design. The conferences are co-organized by S News, the Universities of Palermo and Catania, and the respective provincial Orders of Engineers.
