Sicily lawmaker addresses hydrogeological risks in Agrigento

Sicilian regional parliamentarian Luigi Salvaggio has met with Sergio Tumminello, the government commissioner for combating hydrogeological instability in Sicily, to address environmental risks in the central-southern part of the region.

Salvaggio highlighted the urgent need for prevention and protection measures in several areas, specifically focusing on the province of Agrigento. The discussions addressed vulnerabilities related to hydrogeological risk, landslides, and coastal erosion in municipalities such as Canicattì, Naro, Palma Montechiaro, Favara, and Agrigento, as well as rainwater management issues in the corridor between Licata and Canicattì.
