Sicily infrastructure: PD criticizes unfulfilled motorway ring promises

Michele Catanzaro, the Democratic Party group leader in the Sicilian Regional Assembly, has criticized the regional government for failing to deliver on the Castelvetrano-Agrigento-Gela motorway ring. He noted that despite promises from previous and current administrations, the project remains unfulfilled, leaving the province of Agrigento without any motorway infrastructure.

The proposed project, managed by Anas, aims to upgrade the SS 115 'Sud Occidentale Sicula' into a high-capacity artery to resolve the historical isolation of Sicily's southern coast. Recent announcements indicated six million euros allocated for the project, and local leaders are calling for the actual commencement of works to prevent further regional isolation.
