Sicily police suspend Catania kiosk and order closure of unauthorized Siracusa retail outlet

The State Police in Catania temporarily suspended the licence of a kiosk‑bar on Via Leucatia for seven days after investigations revealed a persistent presence of individuals with serious criminal records, invoking article 100 of the Italian Public Security Code. The measure was taken to prevent the venue from becoming a regular gathering point for potentially dangerous persons.

In Siracusa, the municipal authority ordered the immediate shutdown of a medium‑size retail space that was operating without the required commercial authorisation and fire‑safety permit. The venue, covering 765 m², had submitted a SCIA after the police inspection, leaving the licensing process incomplete. The closure can be lifted once the proper permits are obtained, and the municipal police will enforce the order.
