Sicily President Renato Schifani Approves Landslide Risk Map and Names Interim Fisheries Head

The regional council of Sicily, chaired by President Renato Schifani, approved the "Cartografia della suscettibilità da frana" – a new landslide‑risk map developed under the Sufra Sicilia project to identify areas prone to landslides before they occur. In the same session the council appointed Alberto Pulizzi as interim director of the Mediterranean Fisheries department, a role he will hold while a permanent two‑year appointment is processed.

In the Sardinian town of Santa Giusta, Mayor Antonello Figus has so far named only two assessors: Matteo Garau, who will handle public works, environmental policies and sport, and Maria Gabriella Caria, who will oversee culture, tourism and public education. The municipal executive remains incomplete, with further appointments expected later.
