Sicily regional football leagues finalize group compositions

The Sicilian Regional Committee of the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti has finalized the group compositions for the Promozione, Prima Categoria, and Seconda Categoria football championships.

In the Promozione division, the number of participating clubs has been increased from 56 to 64 to form four groups of 16 teams. This adjustment follows several club withdrawals, including Accademia Trapani, Folgore Castelvetrano, and Leonfortese. Several teams have been reinstated through the repechage process, including Sinagra, Fada Fc Palermo, Casmenarum Comiso, Cassibile Fontane Bianche, Sicilia Fc Palermo, Ragusa Boys, Real Gela, and Sant’Anna Enna.

Girone D of the Promozione division features a strong presence from the province of Siracusa, with five teams participating: Noto, Città di Canicattini, Atletico Megara 1908, S. S. Megarese, and Cassibile Fontane Bianche. This group also includes teams from the provinces of Enna, Ragusa, Caltanissetta, and Caltagirone.
