Sicily sailing project launched for youth development

Angelo D’Aquila has launched ‘La Sicilia a Vela’, a non-profit educational project designed to use sailing as a tool for youth development along the Sicilian coast. Utilizing a Beneteau Platu 25, the initiative aims to teach young participants responsibility, collaboration, and autonomy through maritime experience.

The proposed 14 to 16-day itinerary covers approximately 461 nautical miles, starting and ending in Syracuse. The route includes stops in Riposto, Messina, Capo d’Orlando, Palermo, Trapani, Mazara del Vallo, San Leone, Marina di Ragusa, and Pozzallo. The project prioritizes safety and technical preparation to ensure the sea serves as a practical school for personal growth.
