Sicily sees new luxury resort openings and cultural festival

Sicily is seeing new developments in both the hospitality and cultural sectors. Mangia’s Hotels & Resorts has unveiled Costa Ragusa, a new lifestyle destination on the island’s south-eastern coast. The project includes the 5-star all-inclusive Mangia’s Costa Ragusa Borgo, which opened on July 1, 2026, and the 5-star luxury Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort, which opened on August 1, 2026. The destination aims to promote the Val di Noto region through a mix of wellness, leisure, and authentic Sicilian dining.

Simultaneously, the 14th edition of the Ragusa Foto Festival is set to begin in Ragusa. Under the artistic direction of Alessandra Mauro, this year’s theme is ‘Mediterranean Archetypes’. The inaugural days, scheduled from August 27 to August 30, 2026, will feature exhibitions, seminars, and debates. The festival includes works by international and Italian authors, such as Massimo Vitalie, exploring cultural rituals and relationships through photography.
