Sicily to host historical and cultural events in Palermo and Montelepre
Sicily will host several cultural events in late 2026 focused on history, nature, and tradition. On August 29, the Le Notti di BCsicilia initiative will feature a historical and naturalistic tour of Monte Pellegrino in Palermo. Led by a team of architects, biologists, and geologists, the guided walk will explore the promontory’s geological formation, its Pleistocene history as an island, and its diverse flora and fauna, including the biodiversity of the Gorgo di Santa Rosalia.
From September 3 to 6, Montelepre will host the 1st National Historical and Folk Dance Tournament, ‘ARS SALTANDI’, held within the framework of the Palio dei Ventimiglia. Organized by Associazione Ventimiglia APS, the event aims to promote Sicilian identity through performing arts. The tournament will also include the election of the Baroness of Montelepre 2026, an initiative designed to promote social awareness and send a message against gender-based violence.
