Sicincin–Bukittinggi Toll Road prioritized for West Sumatra

Indonesian officials have identified the Sicincin–Bukittinggi Toll Road project as a priority for infrastructure connectivity in West Sumatra. During discussions with local community leaders in Agam Regency, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the DPR, Andre Rosiade, emphasized that the project is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to boosting regional economic growth.

The development plan includes the toll road and a 6.5-kilometer bypass access from the Pasar Amor Toll Exit to Simpang Taluak. Additionally, the central government has allocated approximately Rp19 trillion for the phased reconstruction and rehabilitation of West Sumatra through 2028. This budget is intended to repair roads, bridges, irrigation systems, and water supply networks damaged by previous disasters.
