SICP introduces Smart Direct Awards to simplify public procurement
The SICP (Public Contracts Information System) has introduced a new “Smart Direct Award” (Affidamenti Diretti Smart) functionality to simplify the management of direct public procurement. This new method allows contracting authorities to acquire offers and necessary documentation directly from economic operators outside of the SICP portal, rather than requiring digital submission through the platform.
Under this model, the Responsible Officer (RUP) can choose between the traditional digital method and the new Smart method based on the specific needs of the procedure. The goal is to reduce bureaucracy and administrative burdens for both authorities and operators. Additionally, the process for obtaining the CIG (Tender Identification Code) will be accelerated: for awards under 5,000 euros, acquisition occurs in real time, while for amounts exceeding 5,000 euros, it is expected within a maximum of 48 hours, depending on ANAC processing times.
Arno Kompatscher, President of the Province, stated that the new functionality introduces the possibility to manage direct awards in a simpler, faster, and more efficient manner.
