Sicpa outlines roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050
Swiss multinational Sicpa has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining a strategic roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire value chain by 2050. The company, which provides authentication and security identification solutions, aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2035.
According to the report, which follows Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, Sicpa reduced its corporate carbon footprint to 113,582 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2025. This follows a downward trend from 131,358 tonnes in 2022. A notable 29% decrease was recorded in emission intensity related to outbound and intercompany transport.
Key drivers for these reductions include energy optimization and the expansion of photovoltaic capacity in Indonesia and Mexico, as well as the acquisition of Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) in Brazil. The company also reported progress in social and governance areas, focusing on talent attraction, workplace safety under ISO 45001 certification, and community development projects.
