Sid Ahmed Agoumi: Algeria honors legendary actor and playwright

Algeria has honored the life and legacy of Sid Ahmed Agoumi, a prominent actor and playwright, following his death at the age of 86. A memorial ceremony was held at the Moufdi Zakaria Culture Palace in Algiers, attended by family, colleagues, artists, and citizens.

Malika Bendouda, the Minister of Culture and Arts, praised Agoumi’s extensive career, noting his significant contributions to Algerian theater, cinema, and television. She described him as a versatile artist whose work helped define Algerian identity across various media. Agoumi was buried at the El Kettar cemetery on Tuesday.
