Sidar Demiroğlu dismissed following judicial corruption allegations

Sidar Demiroğlu, a former judge at the Istanbul Anadolu 4th Criminal Court of Peace, has been dismissed from her profession following an investigation by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK). The HSK Second Chamber's findings include allegations of bribery and the irregular release of individuals involved in serious crimes, including drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, looting, and illegal betting.

The investigation report detailed 17 separate actions. Evidence suggests Demiroğlu improperly influenced other judges regarding specific cases, such as instructing a colleague to review a suspect's file multiple times and advocating for the release of individuals by claiming personal connections to their families.

According to the report, several suspects released under Demiroğlu's orders, including Ramazan Kentaç, Mesut Doğru, Hakan Bal, and Atila Yıldırım, have since disappeared and remain at large. Prosecutors have initiated proceedings against Demiroğlu for allegedly aiding and abetting criminals on four separate occasions.
