Siddaramaiah refuses media comment on Karnataka sting operation row

Siddaramaiah, a former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress Working Committee member, has declined to comment to the media regarding a recent sting operation controversy. This refusal follows his decision to file a police complaint and approach the court over the circulation of allegedly defamatory content on social media and news platforms.

The controversy has intensified political tensions in Karnataka, leading to a confrontation between Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy and the Congress government. Kumaraswamy has directed accusations toward Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar concerning the video involving Siddaramaiah.

In response to Kumaraswamy’s warnings regarding the 2028 Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara stated that the political landscape will be determined by the voters. Parameshwara also suggested that Kumaraswamy should resign from his central post to engage directly in state politics.
