Siddharth Bodke to play Subrata Roy in ‘Scam 2010’ series

Production has commenced on ‘Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga’, the third installment in the ‘Scam’ franchise. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the series stars Siddharth Bodke as the late Subrata Roy, the founder of the Sahara Group.

Based on journalist Tamal Bandyopadhyay’s book ‘Sahara: The Untold Story’, the series aims to chronicle Roy’s rise from small financial savings schemes to the creation of a massive business empire, as well as the legal controversies and regulatory conflicts that followed. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta described the project as a narrative focused on ambition and the consequences of perceived invincibility.

Applause Entertainment and Birla Studios are involved in the production. The series follows the success of previous entries in the franchise, ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ and ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’.
