Sidenor and Basque Government renewable plan sees limited progress in Catalonia

A renewable energy investment plan initiated three years ago by the Basque Government and Sidenor has seen limited progress in Catalonia. Of the eight photovoltaic parks originally announced, only four are currently operational.

The project was designed as a joint venture involving the Basque Energy Agency (EVE), Lakua, and Sidenor to secure affordable clean electricity for the steel company. This initiative aimed to address high energy costs in the industrial sector through long-term supply agreements.
