Sidewalk explodes and catches fire in Boston, Lincolnshire
An underground cable fault caused a sidewalk to explode and catch fire in Boston, Lincolnshire, on August 20. Surveillance footage captured paving stones being thrown into the air followed by a bright flash and flames emerging from beneath the pedestrian walkway.
Despite the explosion occurring near pedestrians and a passing vehicle, no injuries were reported. Lincolnshire Police cordoned off the area due to the fire, which extinguished itself before firefighters arrived. The incident caused a power outage for 68 households in the area, though electricity was fully restored by approximately 9:00 PM.
