Sidi Abdallah wastewater treatment plant commissioned near Algiers
A new wastewater treatment plant has been commissioned in Sidi Abdallah, south of the new city near Algiers. The facility has a daily capacity of 32,000 cubic meters, serving an estimated population of approximately 200,000 residents across five sectors, including Maâlma Sud, Rahmania Sud, Dekkakna, Hadj Yacoub, and Tessala El Merdja.
The project aims to support urban expansion in the south and west of the capital while reducing pollution in the Mazafran wadi. By treating effluents before discharge, the station is expected to improve the quality of water released into the natural environment.
